Gastouri bridge to Pahatika closed to traffic
CORFU. The bridge will be closed while restoration work is carried out.
Following the press release dated 22/07/2022 regarding the traffic ban on the Gastouri Bridge due to its dangerous condition, and subsequently, the agreement reached on 22-08-2023 for the execution of the project "Restoration of the 'Pahatika' Bridge in the community of Gastouri in the district of Achillion," the Municipality of Central Corfu & Diapontia Islands has made the following announcement:
During the execution of the above-mentioned project, pedestrian and vehicular traffic is prohibited on the municipal road leading to Pahatika via the bridge.
Throughout the duration of the works, the entrance, circulation, and parking of any motor vehicle are strictly prohibited, as well as pedestrian crossing.
The contractor will install permanent barriers and the legally required signage.
