Helicopter emergency landing in Cephalonia
ARGOSTOLI. The pilot suffered minor injuries.
The pilot of a helicopter which had to make an emergency landing on Thursday (8/6) afternoon suffered minor injuries.
The incident took place in the village of Klismata, where the pilot landed the helicopter in a large plot of land without endangering the safety of residents in the area.
According to some witnesses, the helicopter circled near the Castle of Agios Georgios for quite some time.
According to informationreceived, the helicopter took off from an area next to Cephalonia Airport, heading to Zakynthos, six nautical miles outside the airport.
After takeoff, it reported an engine failure and made an emergency landing.
The two men, approximately 60 years old, who were on board the helicopter, were taken to Argostoli General Hospital, one with minor injuries to the shoulder blade.
Firefighters and rescuers rushed to the scene.
