ATHENS. He will be given a mandate to form a government at 13:00 today.
The political leaders were at the Presidential Mansion on Wednesday morning, in readiness once again for the upcoming elections following the electoral outcome of May 21st.
During the meeting, the President of the Hellenic Republic, Katerina Sakellaropoulou, informed the political leaders of her intention to appoint an interim Prime Minister, the President of the Court of Audit, Ioannis Sarmas.
The President stated that she will coordinate with Mr. Sarmas regarding the interim ministers.
Mr. Sarmas will come to the Presidential Mansion at 13:00 to receive the mandate to form a government, seeking the broadest possible acceptance, in order to conduct the second elections since no government emerged after the May 21st elections, and there was no agreement among the political leaders.The meeting at the Presidential Mansion lasted less than 30 minutes, and there were no statements made upon the departure of the political leaders.
