CORFU. According to the contractor, the work will be completed within two months.
Work has begun removing the abandoned waste bales from the old Lefkimmi landfill in South Corfu. "We are fulfilling our promise!" said Ionian Islands Regional Governor Rodi Kratsa.
The contract with the contractor was signed last Wednesday for the removal of 8,000 tons of waste bales. As reported by Enimerosi, the work was due to begin this week.
The bales will be taken to Aitoloakarnanias landfill.
