Works to repair ΄Ballos΄ damage finally begin

CORFU. Almost a year after the Ballos storm, the repair of the damaged infrastructure started from Stavros with works in three places.
The beginning for the repair of the infrastructure destroyed by Ballos was made in Stavros.
The Deputy Regional Governors for Corfu and Infrastructure Kostas Zorbas and Manolis Orphanoudakis, along with the Regional Council President Nikos Mouzakitis, carried out yesterday an inspection with the Technical Works Department.
The Regional Governor Rodi Kratsa signed the contract on 12 August so that the repair of the damages could start immediately.
According to the planning of the Technical Works Department, the repair work will begin from the road section in Ag. Deka and Stavros, so that vehicles can go to and from South Corfu when the Eth. Lefkimmi Rd will be closed for a while to carry out repair works in Perama, which are the main ones of the project.
The total budget of the projects in Perama, Ag. Deka, Stavros and Viros is €1,500,000 and comes from the Ionian Islands Region's Public Investment Programme.
