Last two bodies found on burnt-out Euroferry Olympia

ASTAKOS. A total of 11 people lost their lives and 281 were rescued.
The bodies of the last two lorry drivers have been found on board the Euroferry Olympia, which caught fire on 18 February whilst sailing from Igoumenitsa to Brindisi.
A total of 11 people lost their lives and 281 were rescued. The two bodies were found in the 3rd garage, where the fire broke out. The two drivers were Bulgarian nationals.
The ship is at Platiyialiou Port in AItoloakarnania, where it was taken from Corfu for safety reasons, and work is continuing to remove the burnt-out vehicles. The remaining fuel will be pumped out of the vessel and it will then be taken elsewhere.
