Tourism bodies to meet on Friday – What Tourism Minister said about School of Tourism

ATHENS. Corfu ND MP Stefanos Gikas met today with Tourism Minister Vassilis Kikilias to discuss about the operation of the Corfu School of Tourism.
The MP conveyed to the Minister the Corfu tourism bodies’ request to meet with him, which Mr. Kikilias accepted. The meeting will take place on Friday 15 October.
Mr. Gikas focused on the problems that have arisen regarding the operation of the Corfu School of Tourism, due to the lack of administrative staff following the resignation of the Director Dimitris Bakiras.
The Minister said once again that the Corfu School of Tourism will not stop operating. He explained that the Ministry of Tourism will ensure that the vacancies will be filled for a few weeks, until the four employees with fixed-term contracts are recruited.
It should be noted that, at the same time, in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior, permanent staff from all of the country’s Schools of Tourism will be recruited through the Public Recruitment Office (ASEP).
