Deputy Minister for Interior to visit Mantouki Vocational High School in person

CORFU. Central Corfu Municipality is requesting funding from the Ministry of Interior for the upgrade of school buildings.
Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands Mayor Meropi Ydraiou announced on Tuesday afternoon that the Deputy Minister for the Interior Stelios Petsas will be in Corfu on November 15.
Ms. Ydraiou, while talking about her meeting with the Minister, referred to the “Antonis Tritsis” funding programme for which proposals have already been submitted by the Municipality. Among them, there is also the file for the construction of a new school centre in Kontokali, a request from the educational community that has been stalled for a decade. According to the Mayor, the Minister has promised to examine the file as a priority.
Ms. Ydraiou went on to say that, at the same time, the Municipality is also seeking additional funding from the Ministry to upgrade school facilities.
“The aim is to visit the school buildings, and especially the Vocational High Schools, so that the Minister can see for himself the condition of the school premises. It is one thing to see it in photographs and another to see it in person,” said Meropi Ydraiou.
