ATHENS. Highest daily total of new cases in Greece to now.
EODY announced 284 new confirmed cases on Sunday 23 August, of which 17 were detected at entry points.
The total number of cases in Greece is now 8,664, of which 55.2% are males. 1,852 (21.4%) of the cases are connected to arrivals from abroad and 3,940 (45.5%) are from contacts with known cases.
31 patients - 8 female, 23 male - are intubated in ICUs. The average age is 67 and 41.9% have underlying health conditions or are over 70. 143 patients have been discharged from ICUs
There were 2 deaths today, taking the total number of fatalities to 242. 84 (34.7%) were females and the average age was 77. 94.6% had underlying health conditions or were over 70
