Angela Gerekou in Vienna to discuss collaboration between Achillion Palace and Schönbrunn Museum

VIENNA. Discussion about collaboration between the Achillion Palace in Corfu and the Schönbrunn Museum in Vienna as well as exchange of know-how.
GNTO President Angela Gerekou met with the Museum's managing director Klaus Panholzer and the head of the Research & Documentation Department Dr. Elfriede Iby.
The meeting, which was held at the Schönbrunn Summer Palace, where Princess Sissy lived, was the initiative of the GNTO President, who is in Austria for the 'Ferien Messe 2020' international tourism exhibition which the GNTO and 16 other Greek exhibitors are taking part in. The exhibition ends on 19 January.
At the meeting Ms. Gerekou stressed the importance of cultural tourism for the two countries and the importance and international renown of the Achillion Palace. She said that the museum is an important brand for the island and should be supported by all the public and local organisations as well as the public in general in order to add value to the tourist product.
The GNTO President invited Mr. Panholzer and his colleagues to visit Corfu and the Achillion Palace and meet with the local organisations for an exchange of know-how in order to develop its promotion.
