New Corfu MP Alekos Avlonitis asks for meeting to discuss refuse problem

CORFU. He calls it an "exhortation and demand" in his post - the need to come together to face the refuse problem which is again getting out of hand.
"Before I even assume my responsibilities as MP for Corfu I consider it my duty and responsibility to make it absolutely clear that the situation with refuse collection in Corfu is becoming explosive," says Alekos Avlonitis. He goes on, "Corfu is facing the great danger of repeating what happened in summer 2018. The risk to public health and the bad image being created of the island in the middle of the tourist season demand that we all do something immediately.
I call on the Mayor of Corfu to immediately call a meeting with the new Mayors and MPs and others that he deems necessary so that we can IMMEDIATELY deal with the situation in a coordinated way - each according to their responsibilities.
There is no time for complacency and excuses.
