Human gesture from the Coast Guard - assistance given to Mathraki islanders

CORFU. On Tuesday morning, with the turbulent conditions prevailing at sea, the Coast Guard helped a family and priest cross to Mathraki for a funeral.
The Independent Mathraki Civil Movement sent a message to the media expressing its gratitude to the Coast Guard and Harbourmaster.
"On the morning of Tuesday 30 October in adverse weather conditions a Coast Guard vessel took a priest and the family of fellow resident Anastasios Kaimis from Corfu to Mathraki to bury their beloved father Konstantinos Kasimis.
We would like to commend the Coast Guard for this support for the residents of the Diapontia Islands.
On behalf of all Mathraki islanders wewould like to give warm thanks to the Coast Guard authorities, the Corfu harbourmaster and the captain and crew of the vessel.
