The 1st Lefkimmi Primary School will remain closed today so that damage from the storm can be repaired.
CORFU. The Regional Administrator for Ionian Islands, Mr. Galatsiatos, and the Deputy Administrator (Corfu), Nikoletta Pandi, visited south Corfu yesterday evening to inspect the extent of the damage caused by the thunderstorms. Accompanied by the Regional Fire Service Director, Mr. Georgakopoulos, they found extensive damage to houses and shops near the river as well as to the 1st Lefkimmi Primary School.
They announced that the school wouldn’t open on Monday, in order to remove fallen trees and other debris. They also announced that anyone who has suffered damage from the storms is eligible for compensation, according to the law.
