LONDON.The Greek National Tourism Organisation (EOT) won the award ‘Best for Business’ for its stand (which includes the Region of Ionian Islands) at the World Travel Market in London.
“It’s modern and combines networking and meeting spaces well, allowing one-to-one meetings” said Russell Smith, director of Intuitive Design. “It has a good layout for someone to comfortably move around or have a drink and the various sections are easily accessible.”
The ‘Best Stand Design’ award was won by Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority this year for a stand that successfully combines old and new elements. Its features include a woman weaving a rug and a virtual stroll for visitors.
Tourism Ireland won the ‘Best Stand Feature’ award for its giant column, referring to the famous Giant’s Causeway in Northern Ireland. “Europe often assumes that we know the countries and so the stands are all very much alike. However, Ireland is trying to do something different,” said Beryl Preuschmann of Triporganiser.net.
