Paleokastritsa: Call for lifeguards at Agios Petros and Agia Triada beaches

CORFU. Paleokastritsa Business Association is calling on the competent authorities to reconsider the negative decision on classifying Agios Petros and Agia Triada beaches as busy beaches and to ensure the provision of the required lifeguard protection.
As the Association points out in its announcement, both beaches attract particularly large numbers of visitors, with daily waiting lists for sunbeds during the peak tourist season. They also present specific safety considerations that warrant a thorough assessment.
The announcement concludes:
“Human life must never be given secondary importance in the face of financial burdens or other operational considerations.
Our Association seeks to work with the competent authorities, but will continue to press for compliance with the law, the safety of bathers and the protection of Paleokastritsa’s image as a tourist destination.”
