Man, 29, who fell from refuse truck remains in critical but stable condition

The condition of the cleaning service worker remains stable but critical, as he remains in the Intensive Care Unit, three days after the serious workplace accident that occurred while he was on duty.
According to sources from the administration of Corfu General Hospital, the 29-year-old remains under close medical supervision, with his treating doctors continuously assessing the progress of his condition. Despite the stabilisation of his health status, his condition is still considered critical.
The accident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, May 16, during refuse collection. Under circumstances that have not yet been fully clarified, the worker reportedly lost his balance and fell from the refuse truck while it was moving, resulting in serious injuries. He was immediately taken to the hospital, where admission to the ICU was deemed necessary.
The incident has caused concern among cleaning service workers and has once again brought attention to safety issues during waste collection operations, one of the sectors within local government where workplace accidents occur frequently.
So far, no further details have been released regarding the exact circumstances under which the accident occurred, while attention remains focused on the recovery and condition of the 29-year-old worker.
