Connecting road between Dimoulitsa Street and Eptanissou Street
From airport bypass at KTEL bus terminal to Dimoulitsa St.
CORFU. A 130-metre connecting road opposite the KTEL Bus Terminal will be funded by METRO and the Municipality, in accordance with the Town Plan.
(Municipal Technical Services) The contract for the execution of the project “Construction of the Airport Bypass Connecting Road” was signed with the contractor company “A. Anthis – V. Draganigos – I. Pantazis O.E.”, operating under the trade name “KORYFO TECHNIKI”.
The project involves the opening and construction of a 130-metre-long and 15-metre-wide road, with 2.5-metre-wide pavements on each side, street lighting, and full water supply and sewage infrastructure. Additionally, provisions are made for connection points and empty conduits for future infrastructure, to avoid further excavations in the future.
The implementation of the project was initiated with the contribution of METRO AEBE, which in June 2025 informed the Municipality of its intention to fund the construction of the road section in front of the supermarket opposite the KTEL Bus Terminal.
The Municipality’s Technical Service completed by August 2025 the preparation of the study for the opening and construction of the road from the KTEL area to the “Skiadopoulos” paint shop, in accordance with the approved town plan “Pangrateika”, with a total budget of €465,000.
METRO AEBE’s donation covers a section of 80 metres, with a budget of €330,000. The Municipality supplemented the project by modifying the Technical Programme and allocating an additional €135,000 for the construction of the remaining 50 metres, which were tendered through an open competition.
The Technical Service obtained approvals from the Archaeological and relevant Environmental Authorities.
The total construction period of the project is set at eight months from the date of signing the contract.
