Young violinist captivates audience

CORFU. The young violinist impressed at a recital co-organised by the Secondary Education Department and the Reading Society.

Corfu opens its arms to the outstanding violinist from the 2nd year of Agros Junior High, Alexandros Marios Armenis, son of Pavlos and Kyriaki, winner of First Prize and a Commendation at the “Antonio Vivaldi” International Competition.

The violin recital, accompanied by the distinguished pianist Chronis Banos, was presented to a large and admiring audience.

He showcased the seriousness of his study and his virtuosity. His progress has surpassed his age, as evidenced by his winning First Prize and a Commendation at the “Antonio Vivaldi” International Competition.

Alexandros Marios Armenis, born in Corfu in 2012, began studying the violin at the age of four. His teacher was Nikolaos Mandylas.

Today, constantly travelling to Austria, with the devoted care of his family, he continues his studies in Vienna under Professor Lucia P. Hall, his mentor in his ongoing diligent practice and artistic development.

A steadfast accompanist and supporter is the pianist Chronis Banos.

He has performed as a soloist in Germany and at venues in Vienna. In Greece, he was awarded Second Prize at the Panhellenic “FILON” Competition. His winning of First Prize at the “Antonio Vivaldi” International Competition represents a milestone in the musical history of Corfu.

The Secondary Education Directorate presented the honorary “Excellence” plaque to Alexandros Marios Armenis, wishing him continued success in cultivating the values he wholeheartedly serves, always with the unwavering support of his family.
