CORFU. Initiative of the Association of Parents and Friends of the Diaplus therapy programme in collaboration with similar organisations from Spain and Italy.

Once again, the Association of Parents and Friends of the Diaplus therapy programme are highlighting the importance of prevention, leveraging the opportunities provided by the Erasmus cross-border programme 'Change Your Life Through Adventure.'

As the coordinating body, for the past two years, they have been implementing this specific educational programme in collaboration with similar organisations from Spain and Italy. The aim is to build a protective shield for young people against addictive substances.

The adventure and therapy programme uses nature and adventure to help individuals confront life's challenges through fun adventure activities, cooperation, connection with nature and group discussions. It caters to young adults and includes a variety of enjoyable activities such as camping, kayaking, cooperative games and personal development.

The desired outcome is to enhance health, well-being, self-confidence,and connection with nature and people. It involves the exchange of knowledge regarding prevention and addiction recovery, as well as the development of leaders who can organise similar programmes at the local level in the future!

Conclusion of programme

The programme's conclusion is marked by a three-day camping gathering in Issos (September 29th - October 2nd), with the participation of trainers from Spain, Italy and local Corfu personnel, says the Vice President of the Association, Dimitris Sarakinis.

There will also be a seminar titled 'Change Your Life Through Adventure' on Monday, October 2nd, at the Laodama Hall (104 Ioannou Theotoki Street, at 20:00), with free admission for the public.

Participants

Besides the coordinating body, the Diaplus Association, and the local Korissou Environmental Association, two corresponding organisations from abroad are also participating. These are 'YOUR WIND ROSE PSICOLOGIA NATURALEZA AVENTURA (Your Wind Rose)' from Valencia, Spain and 'ILPONTE – CENTRO DI SOLIDARIETA ONLUS (IlPonte)' from Rome (CIVITAVECCHIA), Italy.
