CORFU. The three teachers travelled to Lisbon, Portugal, to attend the Erasmus ΄Cultivating Futures - Environmental Education, small actions with big impacts΄ programme.

The participation of Potamos Primary School in the Erasmus programme continued with great success with three foreign language teachers. Terpsichore Nikolaidou, Maria Georgiadou and Ioanna Armeni travelled to Lisbon, Portugal, from 11 to 17 December to attend the Erasmus 'Cultivating Futures - Environmental Education, small actions with big impacts' programme.

The main themes of the programme were climate change, ways to protect the environment by changing personal choices, minimising the energy footprint, raising awareness and the importance of living in a healthy and sustainable environment.

The programme aimed at training teachers and increasing their knowledge with experiences, techniques and skills that they will then share with and apply to their pupils.

Suggestions were given through activities and workshops on green practices (alternative mobility choices, sustainable food, growing a vegetable garden at school, changing the use of items).

The need to implement the idea of zero waste in everyday life and the ways to achieve this by using what is left over without throwing it away were emphasised.

Apart from the Greek team, teachers from France and Spain also participated in the Erasmus programme. The atmosphere among the participants was very warm and friendly and everyone participated actively, creating bonds of friendship and mutual appreciation.

The programme also included visits and guided tours to museums and important sights of Lisbon that impressed the participants. Responsible for the excellent organisation of the programme and the execution of the seminar was Joanna Conde.
