Fountain to be built on the new port roundabout

There are just a few loose ends to tie up before the invitation to tender can go out for the work. Meanwhile, the ongoing saga of the leeward pier has ended and the final 300,000 Euros have been deposited in the project account so that the work can be completed and the quay can be cleaned for the Corfu-Igoumenitsa ferry berth. The electricity supply for the pier will come from the sub-station across the road, next to the BP filling station, which will mean financial savings for the Port Authority and the project as otherwise it would have meant another tender for the work with a budget of hundreds of thousands for the construction of a new electricity network.
