Zisimos reopening
CORFU. The application submitted by the sole interested party—a Corfu entrepreneur in a related sector—will be reviewed on Thursday.
The iconic Zisimos café will reopen this Easter, once again bearing the same historic name on its awning: “Ta Olympia – Zisimos.”
There has been one and only one response to the call for expressions of interest for the reopening of the establishment, submitted by a well-known Corfu entrepreneur.
The application file will be opened tomorrow, Thursday, during the session of the tender committee at 11 a.m. Given that there are no other interested parties and that the deadline for submitting applications has expired, his selection as the highest bidder is considered almost certain.
According to the tender notice, the premises will be used for any permitted professional activity, in accordance with the relevant regulations, provided that it is compatible with the historic character of the area. At the same time, the interior décor of historical significance must be preserved, as well as the distinctive trade name “Ta Olympia – Zisimos.”
The lease agreement will have a duration of eight years from the date of signing. The minimum monthly rental bid has been set at €8,100, in accordance with the rental valuation report prepared by a certified appraiser.
Given that there is only one interested party, even a bid of €8,100.10 would be sufficient for him to prevail, which is ultimately expected to be the case.
In order to be accepted for the auction, he must submit, as a participation guarantee, either a deposit receipt from the Consignment Deposits and Loans Fund or a letter of guarantee from a recognised bank, for the amount of €24,000.00.
The interested party is also required to provide a creditworthy guarantor, who will sign the agreement between the Municipality and the lessee, thereby becoming jointly and severally liable for the fulfillment of the terms of the contract.
