Fire flare-up at Temploni landfill early Monday

CORFU. There was no danger of it spreading.
The fire department received a call about a fire at the Temploni landfill in the early hours of Monday, August 18 (around 12:30 a.m.). A vehicle with two firefighters rushed to the scene, but did not need to intervene, as the flare-up had already been dealt with by Civil Protection forces of the Central Corfu Municipality who were present.
Two pickup trucks and a water tanker, which is permanently stationed there, immediately extinguished the fire without any danger arising.
