CORFU. Deputy Mayor of Cleaning Services, Spyros Nerantzis: "We stress that this measure is not of a revenue-generating nature, and we are confident in your understanding at all levels."

(Central Corfu Municipality) The Municipality of Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands reminds the public that starting Monday, February 17, crews from the Cleaning Service will begin removing structures and other objects from streets, pavements, squares, shopfronts, etc.

Deputy Mayor of Cleaning Services, Spyros Nerantzis, states:
"Fully aware that placing objects in public spaces has been a long-standing practice tolerated by all, we seek your cooperation in ensuring the proper use of shared spaces, as we owe it to all our fellow citizens and as defined by current legislation.

We stress that this measure is not of a revenue-generating nature, and we are confident in your understanding at all levels.

Respecting the expenses incurred by our fellow citizens for purchasing flower pots, signage, benches and other items, we kindly ask them to remove in time any objects that do not have a permit for occupying public space.

In the event of re-placement of such objects, the provisions of the Cleanliness Regulation will be enforced, and they will be removed again."
