66 driving offences 5-7 October
CORFU. Police checks are continuing.
Targeted checks were carried out from 5 to 7 October, by Traffic Police officers, with the assistance of Corfu Police Department.
During the actions deployed, during evening hours, on Eth. Paleokastritsa Rd. and in particular in Solari, Kontokali and Gouvia, a total of 124 vehicles were checked and 66 driving offences were confirmed.
36 drivers (15 cars and 21motorcycles), of a young age, were found guilty, on a case-by-case basis, of offences of demonstration of competence, driving dangerously, driving under the influence, lack of silencer, driving without a licence, speeding, not using seat belts and helmets, as well as other dangerous offences.
The individuals were fined a total of 6,420 euros, the vehicle registration and driving licence of each driver were withdrawn, where applicable, while eight vehicles were immobilised.
The checks are continuing.
