215 driving offences in Corfu over long weekend

Traffic Police carried out checks between 21 and 24 July  in Corfu, Lefkada, Zakynthos and Cephalonia.

- 38 police teams

- 1,662 vehicles were checked
- 473 offences were confirmed - 215 in Corfu, 95 in Zakynthos, 94 in Lefkada and 69 in Cephalonia.

These included the following:

- 19 for driving under the influence
- 61 for speeding
- 3 for using a mobile phone whilst driving
- 4 for driving on the wrong side of the road
- 10 for not using seat belts
- 49 for not using helmets

- 21 for driving without a licence
- 10 for MOT violations

- 296 other offences
