Street events in solidarity with Palestine on Thursday 20 June
CORFU. The event is being organised by the artistic movement ΄Acts of Solidarity΄.
The artistic movement 'Acts of Solidarity' is organising an event on Thursday, June 20th, in the streets of the Old Town. The event will be held at the following locations:
- 19:30: Porta Riala
- 20:00: Annunziata Square
- 20:30: Plakada tou Agiou
A member of the group posted about the event on social media:
"In 1937 - Guernica: Picasso, with his iconic work, captured the anguish and cry of protest of peoples and progressive artists against fascism and war. The destruction of the city of Guernica, bombed by German and Italian troops supporting the fascist Franco, was the inspiration.
In 2024 - Guernica remains as relevant as ever - in every corner of the earth where war crimes are committed - it is coming alive through an artistic event, in the streets of the town.
