Two arrested for attempted car theft

Two men, aged 32 and 17, were arrested yesterday afternoon, 8 April, when they were caught in the act of theft and attempted complicity in the same crime and subsequent offences.

According to the police investigation, the two perpetrators, in the early hours of Sunday 7 April, initially broke into two parked vehicles in a suburb of Corfu Town. They then attempted to start them up, unsuccessfully, and siphoned about 50 litres of petrol from one of them.

An investigation into the case was conducted by the police and the two were taken to appear before the Corfu Prosecutor.
