Knife attack perpetrator to appear before Prosecutor on Monday

CORFU. The 14-year-old who was stabbed in the leg has been discharged. The 17-year-old has returned to Ioannina University Hospital from Patras following the surgical procedure he underwent.

The 17-year-old perpetrator of the knife attack in San Rocco was brought before the Corfu Prosecutor late on Thursday afternoon, where he was charged with the offences of attempted murder, aggravated assault causing serious bodily harm, and weapons offence.

The young man was brought before the Prosecutor immediately following his discharg from Corfu hospital, where he had been hospitalised under guard for one night. He was referred for main interrogation; however, he requested and was granted a deadline to present his defence on Monday morning, April 8. He has been charged with criminal offences.

14-year-old discharged

Meanwhile, yesterday afternoon, the 14-year-old who was attacked and injured in the leg by in the knife attack was discharged from Corfu General Hospital.

 

Injured 17year-old returns to Ioannina Hospital from Patras

The 17-year-old who was also injured in the thigh returned yesterday afternoon from Patras to Ioannina University Hospital, where he remains hospitalised, with his condition not causing concern.

Initially, the young man was immediately taken to Corfu Hospital after the attack. However, after a few hours, he was transferred by helicopter to Ioannina University Hospital for vascular surgery assessment. It was deemed necessary to transfer him to Patras University Hospital in order to perform embolization of the injured artery to stabilise his condition.
