Former Desyllas factory to come under the hammer for second time

CORFU. Online auction to be repeated on 21 February.

The former Desyllas industrial complex, covering an area of 37 stremma, is once again up for sale in an online auction. The repeat process, following the cancellation of the previous one due to lack of interest from potential buyers, is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, February 21, at 10 in the morning.

The starting price, just like the previous time, has been set at €8,237,000, with Piraeus Bank expediting proceedings regarding the owners' debts, amounting to €500,000.

Interested bidders will have two hours to submit their offers.

 

Central Corfu Municipality

The Municipality of Central Corfu expressed its decision to participate in the second auction through a resolution of the Municipal Council during its session on November 13, 2023, following the cancellation of the first procedure. Additionally, the second part of the decision involved informing the Ministry of Culture about its claim through expropriation in favour of the Public.

The property is enclosed by the streets Metropolitan Athanasios, Trion Martyron, Dairpfeld, Theodoros Desylla and Alexandros Desylla, and includes a building area of 37,647 sq.m. and around 90 buildings, among which is a mansion with a total area of 170 sq.m. Six protected buildings with a total area of 4,695.13 sq.m. are exempt from the possibility of exploiting the land. The remaining area for exploitation is 16,005 sq.m. Specifically, a building coefficient of 1.40, coverage rate of 70%, and permitted height of 13.50 metres are provided. Permitted uses include residence, cultural functions, and education.
