CORFU. Today, November 22, as posted on the platform, the repeat auction will take place, with Piraeus Bank acting as the representative of the bondholders and a starting bid of €5,354,050.

Central Corfu  Municipality is not ready to pursue the Desyllas property. It has not secured the loan it intended to obtain in order to appear today before the notary. As a result, the hope of staying in the game to claim the property now depends on the repetition of the auction at a later time, assuming today's process also proves fruitless.

Mayor Stefanos Poulimenos told Enimerosi that these hopes are realistic, especially as they were reinforced by statements from officials of the initiating Piraeus Bank. Their positive stance towards the Municipality's aspirations was confirmed last week during their participation in an event at the Reading Society regarding a publication sponsored by the Bank. The officials met the mayor at that event.

In any case, today, November 22, as posted on the platform, the repeat auction will take place, with Piraeus Bank acting as the representative of the bondholders and a starting bid of €5,354,050, the same amount as in the May auction that was suspended. In the first two auctions, which were declared void, the starting bid was set at €8.237, later reduced to €6,589,600 in the third auction.

The factory includes a construction area of approximately 37,647 square meters and around 90 buildings, three of which are outside the main construction area. When operational, the property included structures with a total area of 15,500 square metres. It should be noted that the site is fully protected as a preserved landmark, both in terms of its architectural infrastructure and its industrial machinery, according to successive decisions by Ministers of Culture Melina Mercouri and Thanos Mikroutsikos during the 1980s and 1990s.
