Yacht adrift near Erikoussa due to engine failure

In the early morning hours, a French-flagged sailing vessel remained adrift southeast of Erikoussa due to a mechanical failure, unable to use its sails due to lack of wind.

Once the Coast Guard was informed, they immediately went to the area where they located the vessel with the two foreign passengers on board in good health. Subsequently, the vessel safely docked in the port of Ereikousa using its own means, accompanied by a patrol boat.

Corfu Central Port Authority then prohibited the departure of the sailing vessel until a seaworthiness certificate has been provided by the overseeing naval surveyor of the vessel.
