Two men arrested for cocaine trafficking
CORFU. 531g of cocaine and €5,010 were found in their possession and seized.
Two Greek men, aged 57 and 26 and who are related, were arrested yesterday by Corfu Drugs Squad for their involvement in the formation of a criminal organisation engaged in cocaine trafficking on the island.
They were arrested yesterday afternoon (10/8) in Central Corfu, following a coordinated police operation.
During searches conducted at their home and in a nearby outdoor area, the following were found and confiscated:
- 531 grams of cocaine
- 7 cannabis plants, up to 2 metres in height
- Small quantity of raw cannabis
- Cash amounting to 5,010 Euros
- Precision scale
Additionally, a passenger car and a motorcycle were seized as means of transporting drugs.
Corfu Drugs Squad conducted a preliminary investigation.
Both detainees were charged with criminal offences related to the crimes of the formation of a criminal organisation, cocaine trafficking and cultivation of raw cannabis. They were brought to appear before the Corfu Prosecutor.
