CORFU. The Festival of the Corfu Branch of the National Council Against Drugs (ESYN) will begin on 24 May and will conclude on 28 June.

(ESYN - National Council Against Drugs) On the occasion of the International Day Against Drugs, the Corfu Branch of the National Council Against Drugs (ESYN) is organising awareness and information events. This is the ESYN Festival, which this year celebrates its 20th anniversary and is dedicated to life, with the central slogan: “Their profits or our lives. Say YES to sports and culture and NO to all drugs.”

The ESYN Festival is an important sports and cultural event that promotes a creative and active lifestyle as a shield against addictions. Since 2005, within its framework, thousands of children have showcased their talents and the beauty of collective effort, receiving the messages of the anti-drug movement. At the same time, its events offer opportunities for raising awareness about the dangerous policies that seek to legalise drugs, while also serving as a platform to demand support measures for education, sports, culture and institutions like "DIAPLOUS", "DHMOP", and "KETHEA", which aid in prevention and treatment.

This year, the festival begins on Saturday, May 24, in North Corfu, at the Nymfes stadium, with a football academy tournament. It is a major sporting celebration, unique in Greece, featuring 8 football academies and more than 350 children. This event is being held for the 14th year running and is co-organised with Achilleas Nymfes. The “journey” of the 20th ESYN Festival will continue on Sunday, June 8, in South Corfu, in Ai Mathias square, where an art evening will be organised in cooperation with the local cultural association. It will conclude on Saturday, June 28, in Corfu Town, in the Lower Square, with a handball tournament co-hosted by Kerkyraikos G.S., with teams participating from Corfu and Epirus.

ESYN's events are co-organised with the Ionian Islands Regional Authority, the Corfu Workers' Centre, the Parents’ Association "DIAPLOUS", and the Federation of Greek Women (OGE), with support from the Corfu Football Union (EPS), the Local Secondary Education Union (ELME), the Medical Association, the Lawyers' Association, the Dental Association, the Central Corfu Parents’ Union, and the "Korisos" Association.

We invite you to attend and support the fight for a society free from addictions and a world that values human life.
