Worker΄s Centre reports another work accident in North Corfu hotel

Another work accident has occurred in a hotel in North Corfu. A maid broke her ribs after she fell during her work and was taken to hospital. Apart from the injury and inconvenience, she will lose a significant part of her low income.
 
We have repeatedly said that the intensification of work and the lack of protective measures in the workplace, in order to serve the profits of the employer, endangers the health, physical integrity and lives of employees.
 
In this particular case, we must mention the excellent attitude of the hotel manager, who took all the obvious actions and accompanied the injured colleague to the hospital for as long as it took until the exams were issued and the employee's relatives arrived.
 
We are pointing out the obvious actions of the manager because we have not seen a similar attitude in other cases. But what this employer, as well as other employers, must do whenever accidents occur, is to cover all of the employees' expenses and pay all of their wages until they return to work.
 
It goes without saying that employers who do not take the necessary hygiene and safety measures for employees are committing a crime in order to increase their profits.
