Tourist season begins on Sunday with 10 international flights arriving at Corfu Airport

CORFU. The whole runway is now available for Airbus aircraft to land.
The first 10 international flights of the season are due to arrive at Corfu Airport on Sunday 26 March. The first is the Easyjet flight from Belfast, arriving at 11:25.
The Hoteliers' Association, Federation of Tourist Accommodation Owners, Association of Corfu Travel Agents, Tourist Guides Association and Corfu Trade Association along with Central Corfu Municipality are preparing a warm welcome for the first visitors, to showcase Corfu hospitality.
Flights from Bratislava, Brussels, Milan, Barcelona, Warsaw and London are also arriving on Sunday and another 40 flights are scheduled to arrive up to 31 March.

Cruises
The first cruise ship of the 2023 season arrived at Corfu Port on Tuesday evening. The Arethusa, 60 metres in length and with a capacity of 50 passengers, arrived at 21:30 and stayed overnight until Wednesday afternoon. According to the programme announced by Corfu Port Authority, the same cruise ship will be visiting another 26 times this year, including 13 visits in November and December.
High occupancies
The large cruise ship Viking Sky, 228 metres long and 29 metres wide and carrying 891 passengers out of a capacity of 930, docked at Corfu Port on Wednesday morning.
Corfu Port Authority CEO Spiros Zervopoulos told Enimerosi that the cruise season has started with very high occupancy rates, which bodes well for the new season.
The next scheduled arrival is the Arethusa again on Monday 27 March and the larger cruise ships will also gradually start to visit.
397 cruise ship arrivals
According to the Corfu Port Authority programme, a total of 397 cruise ship visits are expected this year, incuding those using the island as a home port every Friday and Sunday. The schedule is as follows:
