Central Corfu Municipality participates in Erasmus ΄Europe Goes Local΄ project

CORFU. Meropi Ydraiou: "A valuable opportunity for young people and employees who will be able to participate in international exchanges".

"The Municipality is here, claiming and winning a better tomorrow for its citizens," said the Mayor Meropi Ydraiou, announcing the inclusion of the Central Corfu Municipality in the Youth and Lifelong Learning Foundation's Europe Goes Local National Working Group for Erasmus.
 
"The way is opening for our participation in programmes that offer a valuable opportunity for young people and employess in our local community who will be able to participate in international exchanges.
 
Students will be able to study at recognised partner universities abroad and do internships abroad, while employees can participate in training and education programmes", said Mrs. Ydraiou.
 
The Central Corfu Municipality was positively evaluated in its request and joined the National Working Group, which will be represented by the Councillor responsible for Education Maria Zervou and the President of the Central Corfu Municipal Secondary Education Committee Kostas Kostalis.
 
The first meeting of the Group will take place from 21 until 24 February and will focus mainly on the opportunities available under the Erasmus and Youth and European Solidarity Corps programmes. There will also be an update on the European tools available to support youth strategies.
 
Europe Goes Local is an EU initiative aimed at promoting local and regional exchanges of young employees, volunteers and organisations. Erasmus, which is part of this initiative, is an EU funding programme for education, training, youth and sport for young people over the age of 18.
