Awareness-raising action to eliminate violence against women
An information event on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women took place today from 10:30 to 13:00 on Georgiou Theotoki St.
The event was organised by the Central Corfu Municipality's Deputy Mayor for Social Welfare Andreas Skoupouras and the members of the Roma Community Department in collaboration with the Corfu Local Health Unit (TOMY), the Regional Special Needs Association and the Ionian Islands Regional Department of the Hellenic Association of Social Workers, with the presence of the Ionian Islands Regional Police Department.
The aim of the event was to inform and raise awareness among young people and citizens, who advocate the principles of equality and the necessary social changes in all aspects of human life and interaction.
The Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands Municipal Community Centre is co-funded by the Greek State and the EU Community Fund via the 'Ionian Islands 2014-2020' Business Programme.
