A classroom which had just been renovated a week ago was found vandalised following a short sit-in early this morning at Corfu 5th High School in Mantouki.
A small group of pupils from the schools that share the same building held a sit-in early this morning, which was ended by the principal. Part of a false ceiling which had recently been renovated with new LED lighting was found to have been damaged.
This is not the first incidence of vandalism here - the same happened last year following a sit-in.
Lessons have gone ahead at the school following the sit-in. According to the Ionian Islands Regional Department of Education, the only school which still has a sit-in since last week is Argyrades Junior High and High School.
Meanwhile, classes have resumed as normal at the 1st & 5th Junior High, where pupils refused to go into lessons this morning in protest.
