North Corfu schools and KEP office vandalised
CORFU. The Municipality will take legal action.
Acts of vandalism at schools and the KEP office in Acharavi over the past ten days has been reported by North Corfu Municipality.
On the night of Monday, August 5th, unknown individuals caused extensive damage to the 1st Thinali School Centρε and Thinali Junior High. The vandals targeted the gates, the main iron gate of the school, doors, the offices of the principals, equipment, and the archives of the two school units, and they also stole five tablets from the 1st Thinali School Centre.
Additionally, the perpetrators also targeted the KEP in Acharavi. They entered the premises by breaking a window. The break-in and vandalism were discovered on Friday, August 16, 2024, after the 15th August holiday.
As stated in the press release issued by the Municipality: "We unequivocally condemn the vandalism and illegal behaviour directed against public and municipal property in our community. The Municipality of North Corfu is pursuing legal action against the unknown individuals responsible for these acts of destruction."
