Hotel employees’ strike outside two Corfu hotels

CORFU. The company promised to discuss all the demands on Thursday 7 July 2022 in order to find a solution.
According to the Corfu Workers Centre, all employees took part in today's 24-hour strike, which took place outside the two Corfu Louis Hotels.
The Corfu Workers Centre, following a request from the Employees Union, announced the following demands:
- Wage increases and signing of a collective agreement.
- Recruitment of staff to cover the vacant positions, composition of staff and determination of duties.
- Work for 5 days and 8 hours per week with breaks and creation of humane working conditions.
- Signing of an agreement guaranteeing the health insurance and wage benefits of all employees for 2023, in case of a delay in the completion of the renovation.
- The employee's home should not be auctioned.
After the strike, the company promised to negotiate the draft collective agreement on Thursday 7 July 2022 and discuss all the demands in order to find a solution.
