CORFU. Journalist Giorgos Andriotis, who inhaled smoke while trying to put out the fire, was taken to hospital.
The smoke coming out of the building's windows at 18:30 worried the neighbours. The Fire Service arrived immediately.
The smoke was coming from the building's first floor.
The firefighters rescued the journalist Giorgos Andriotis from whose kitchen the fire seems to have started. He inhaled smoke while trying to extinguish it and was taken by ambulance to the hospital as a precautionary measure.
The fire was quickly brought under control.
Fortunately there was noone else trapped.
