CORFU. The cafe will keep the same traditional character.
The final touches are being put to the cafe in Liston that was formerly Zisimos and it will be opening on Thursday, or Friday at the latest, in time for the Catholic Easter.
The property on the corner of Vas.Georgiou A and Capodistriou 24 (Liston), which was a legacy from Isabella Dalietou, was taken over by the new tenant in December following an auction in which they were the only one to make an offer.
Since that time, renovation work has been carried out and personnel trained.
The cafe will keep the same traditional character it had and the manager Mr. Papadopoulos told Enimerosi that the interior has been designed very carefully to ensure it keeps the appropriate traditional style. "We want to respect this property which is much-loved by the Corfiots," he said.
The lease
Central Corfu Deputy Mayor for Finance Giorgos Pantelios told Enimerosi that the new owner has already paid a deposit of €39k and the first two months rents. The monthly rent for the property is €15k.
The former tenant owes approximately €500k and Mr. Pantelios says that the municipality has started legal procedures.
