Fire revives on Euroferry Olympia

Firefighters' fears were confirmed today when the ramp of the Euroferry Olympia was lowered to remove the vehicles and the smoke coming out indicated that the fire had revived.

The rescue teams had been waiting for the lowering of the ramp so that they could remove the burnt-out vehicles and continue their search for the three missing persons. After a lot of effort, the ramp was finally lowered, but the oxygen which rushed into the vessel led to a probable revival of the fire. Firefighters are trying to deal with the situation so that the air can clear and the search continue.
