CORFU. No facilities for information and accommodation for the desperate relative have been set up.

Desperate relatives are coming to Corfu to find out the latest information about the missing passengers, probably still trapped in the fire-stricken Euroferry Olympia.

Their hopes were raised when the 21-year-old driver was found alive but then the dead body of 58-year-old Evaggelos Malesiadis was pulled from his lorry on the ship on Sunday evening. His son identified the body.

The tearful wife of Nikos Bekiaris, who is still missing, begged for the search to intensify and the son of Nikos Gerontidakis is lodging a complaint against the shipowners.

Early on Monday morning, another relative arrived at Corfu Port desperately trying to get any information about his missing father. He met ERT reporter Maria Pagrati in the hope of getting some news and said that he wants to go to the spot where the ship is moored.

No information

The shipping company is nowhere to be seen - it hasn't even set up facilities to provide information and accommodation for the desperate relatives. The only way they can get information is from the media and by asking for help on air.

The Special Disaster Response Unit (EMAK) is continuing its search for the remaining 10 missing passengers.
