CORFU. Corfu Hospital has announced that ten people from the Euroferry Olympia were taken to hospital today, mainly suffering from smoke inhalation.
Statement from Corfu Hospital:
Ten patients from the ship (9 males and 1 female) were brought by ambulance to the hospital Emergency Department on Friday and were given first aid.
Six of them had minor respiratory difficulties due to monoxide inhalation. Their condition is satisfactory and they will remain hospitalised in the Pulmonary and Pathology Clinics for precautionary reasons and to be given oxygen.
One had meniscus contusion and will remain hospitalised for precautionary reasons in the Pulmonary Clinic as he has respiratory difficulties.
One patient with hypertension, one with malaise and one with a knee injury were discharged with advice and guidelines following their examinations.
