"Ballos" leaves a trail of destruction: Corfu - the day after

CORFU. Corfu residents are counting the damage after Thursday΄s heavy rainfall.
Five hours were enough for the swollen water from rivers and the sea to flood houses, businesses, cars and animals.
With superhuman efforts from firefighters, the Search & Rescue Team (EMAK) and other teams of volunteers there were over 70 rescues with no lives at risk, fortunately.
On the day after, municipal and regional crews have already begun to record the damage. Residents who saw their property destroyed are now dependent on immediate support from the state.
