CORFU. “I believe that the remaining 50 will be paid by July,” the Deputy Regional Governor Kostas Zorbas told Enimerosi.
Eight months after the disastrous floods caused by the ‘Ballos’ storm, the Ministry of Finance paid the first advances of compensation to businesses, following a request by the Deputy Regional Governor for Corfu Kostas Zorbas.
More specifically, 60 businesses, which are entitled to compensation from the Ministry of Finance having submitted the necessary documents to the Ionian Islands Region, were paid a total of €582.783. The amount paid to each business is an advance payment and is 20% of the total compensation for the damage caused by ‘Ballos’.
Mr. Zorbas said that “the Ionian Islands Region is continuing the efforts in order for the Ministry of Finance to pay the advances to all businesses as soon as possible and no later than mid-July.”
Regarding the settlement of the amounts, Mr. Zorbas told Enimerosi that it will be done by the Ministry of Finance after checking all the files.
