Immediate action taken to deal with damage in North Corfu from heavy rainfall

The Municipality of North Corfu responded immediately to deal with the problems caused by the recent heavy rainfall, including a landslide on Kastellani Gyrou provincial road and collapse of the retaining wall of Agios Ioannis Church in Pagi.
In collaboration with the North Corfu Municipal Civil Protection Service, the presidents of the communities of Kastellani Gyrou and Pagi, and the municipal work crews, the removal of dislodged rocks and soil, as well as the restoration of road accessibility and safety, was carried out swiftly. The North Corfu Police Department, the Thinalia Fire Brigade and DEDDIE were also on standby.
The Municipality of North Corfu remains on high alert, closely monitoring weather conditions and intervening whenever necessary. We urge citizens to exercise caution and report any issues to the relevant authorities.
