CORFU. New assurances that the School of Tourism’s issue is being resolved.

The Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands Mayor Meropi Ydraiou received assurances yesterday, during a meeting with the Tourism Ministry Secretary Stavroula Miliakou, that the problem lack of staff Corfu School of Tourism is being resolved.

The Mayor once again raised the issue of the island’s School of Tourism, stressing that all the necessary procedures for the recruitment of permanent staff should be initiated and proceed immediately. She also pointed out that the necessary steps should be taken in order to resolve the problem once and for all and in order to ensure the continued existence of the School of Tourism, since it has made an important contribution to the island’s tourism.

Mrs. Miliakou assured the Mayor that the School of Tourism’s issue is going to be resolved, since the Public Recruitment Office (ASEP) is expected to give its approval for the recruitment of four people under a part-time, fixed-term private law contract by next Monday. At the same time, additional solutions are being adopted for the interim period until their recruitment, which will allow the School of Tourism to continue operating.
